Interpreters' Confidentiality

Translators USA language specialists often interpret conversations of highly confidential nature. We thus fully understand the concerns of businesses and individuals in regard to interpreters' confidentiality as an eventual indiscretion of the interpreter can cause a major damage in both their personal and professional lives. But our clients can rest assured that their privacy and confidential information are 100% safe with us.

Translators USA Interpreters are Bound to Confidentiality

We are fully aware of the consequences of an eventual interpreters' indiscretion and therefore, we have taken several steps to ensure that our clients don't have to worry about whether or not their interpreters will disclose any information acquired while interpreting:

  • We work with highly trained professionals exclusively. All our interpreters are professionals who are trained to interpret particular language pairs and subjects. But they are also trained to maintain confidentiality, that is not to disclose anything learned while interpreting and treat all information acquired as confidential.
  • All our interpreters are bound to confidentiality by the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. Upon joining our team of language specialists, all interpreters have to pledge to follow our Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct which, among other things, also bounds them to confidentiality.
  • We continuously upgrade our security systems to make sure that all our clients' information and records are 100% secure. In addition to using the latest state-of-the-art security systems to keep our clients' information and records secure both physically and electronically, we are also continuously upgrading our security systems to prevent any unauthorized access to sensitive data.
  • Before accepting to do interpreting, we always inform our clients about the exceptions to confidentiality, that is situations in which interpreters are allowed to disclose confidential information. There are cases in which interpreters aren't bound to confidentiality. Therefore, we always make sure that our clients understand when and why interpreters may disclose confidential information.

Exceptions to Interpreters' Confidentiality

As mentioned earlier, our interpreters are professionals who treat all information learned or acquired during interpreting as confidential. But there are a few exceptions: a court order, physical threat or danger to the client or others involved and situations in which maintaining confidentiality would be against the law. Interpreters may also disclose confidential information to their colleagues if not doing so could affect the quality of service.
