Our team of translators consists of highly trained, experienced and skilled professionals who provide fast and 100% accurate translation services in all industries and over 150 languages at the rates you won't find anywhere else. Are Certified Translators Better than Their Non-Certified Colleagues?
Not necessarily. While a certification from the APA (American Translators Association) or other professional translators association guarantees that the translator is competent to translate in a particular language pair, non-certified translators are often just as competent even though they don't have a "paper" to prove it. Also, it is important to mention that the APA for instance currently awards certifications only for English translations from 11 languages and translations from English into 15 languages. This means that only a small fraction of translators hold certifications from professional translators associations given that over 6,000 languages are estimated to be spoken around the world.
When the Certification Matters. A Lot!
Unfortunately, accurate translation isn't always enough. If you need to submit translated documents to a federal agency such as the USCIS, local government institution, court, academic institution, etc., you are highly advised to hire a certified translator. Why? Because non-certified translations are typically rejected even if they are 100% accurate.
U.S. government agencies and a growing number of both public and private institutions recognize only certified translations. And these can be provided only by certified translators by including a statement in which they guarantee accuracy of the translation and their competence to translate in the particular language pair as well as providing information for verification of their competence.
Please keep in mind that having a non-certified translation notarized won't work. U.S. federal agencies and government institutions require certified translations, while notarization typically isn't required at all. This is because a notary's stamp guarantees only authenticity of the signatures. Unlike the statement by a certified translator, the notary's stamp doesn't guarantee accuracy of translation.
